Forge Hub BB Codes

Original Thread

The Forge Hub forums use a system called BB Code to format posts and replies. For example, they allow you to add formatting such as bold and italic text to your posts, as well as embedding various types of media, pictures and videos.

To see a complete list of all the BB Codes available on Forge Hub, as well as what they do and how to use them, follow the link below:

Forge Hub Rank System

Member Ranks

Each rank has 5 progressions,
requiring a set amount of posts to move to the next. For example, a UNSC Trainee Grade 1 requires 25 posts, Grade 2 requires 30 posts and so on, increasing every 5 posts until the next rank is reached at 50 posts.

As you increase in rank, the number of posts required to progress also increases. For example, an Askar requires 40 posts to move between grades, and 200 posts to move to the next rank.

The central blue bar in each rank tracks your overall progress, and increases for each grade you gain. It's a quick way to see which ranks are higher than others if you don't know the order by their names, and ties the ranks together in a consistent way.

Prestige Ranks

Premium
This rank is awarded to members who have had 2 or more maps featured on the front page of Forge Hub. For each additional feature, they gain an extra bar in their rank.

Architect
This rank is awarded to members who have had 7 or more maps featured on the front page of Forge Hub.

  • put effort into making members feel welcome
  • have been a long standing member
  • do NOT ask for the rank
are privately considered for the rank.

Respected
This rank is awarded to members who are widely known throughout the Halo community as a whole.

Affiliate
This rank is awarded to members who administrate one of our affiliate sites.

Staff Ranks

Tech Admin
Maintains and manages the technical requirements of the site.

Administrator
Administrates the site and manages the staff.

Moderator
Moderates the site and maintains a consistent service for members.

Journalist
Writes front page articles for the site and moderates where necessary.

Guardian
Temporary moderation staff drawn from the Loyal rank.

Restricted Ranks

Warned
Automatically assigned usergroup that restricts forum access and privileges based on current infractions. Incremented in 3 successive levels.

Banned
Automatically assigned usergroup that prevents forum access based on current infractions.

Notes

Any unusual user titles you might see are custom, which have either been chosen by the user themselves, or won in a site competition. These aren't official ranks... but they are pretty damn cool.

Please note that an individual's post count does not matter here at Forge Hub and we do not condone spamming. This list is simply for people who are interested in our user rank system.

Daylight Saving:

For the countries in blue in this map, daylight saving is used. This means that in Summer Time, the clocks are put forward 1 hour in response to it getting darker earlier in the day.

This would mean that in Summer Time, your area would be an extra 1:00 ahead of what it would normally be.

Approximately 70 countries utilize Daylight Saving Time in at least one portion of the country. They all save one hour in the summer and change their clocks some time between midnight and 3:00 a.m.

Credit for the idea to include Daylight Saving goes to Mallet

New members who can't post or reply

There have been a few questions from newly registered members who are unable to post threads, reply to threads, or basically do anything apart from view a couple of things around the forums.

Generally this is because the email validation has not been carried out by this user. When you first register on Forge Hub, you are automatically sent an activation email to the email address you entered when you signed up. In some cases, this email is not sent, in others, users simply don't realise that they must check this email and click the activation link to enable posting etc. on their account.

If you are experiencing this problem, please check your emails at the email address you entered upon registration, and click the link contained within the activation email. If you haven't received this email, please copy and paste the following in to the address bar on your browser, then type the email address you registered with to resend the activation email:
