Forge Hub IRC

Original thread
For some reason no body uses IRC, sure it's not as good as the shoutbox but it's better then nothing =] [/debate]

Anyway, because people seem to have some difficulty getting into the ForgeIRC I thought I would post a very simple guide on how to get into the chat =]

Yes there is a massive guide on the home page, here, but nobody seems to even notice it. Also I found it a little overwhelming, maybe I have a simple mind... Oh well

What you will need
Mozilla Firefox - Found Here
ChatZilla - Found here

Now once you have downloaded and installed Firefox, it's a very simple process to download and install an Add-On, don't worry it's very user friendly.

Restart Firefox, it should prompt you to do this.

Now once restarted all you have to do is click this button [Also in my sig]

Now seeing how you are using FireFox for this tutorial, you should be, you can right click on that ForgeIRC image and select Bookmark This Link. Assuming you have no other Add-Ons it should be third from the top of the right click menu.

Now that you are inside the ForgeIRC you will want to change your name from the default name handed to you. This is very simple. type:

/nick [your name]

Once you have your nickname you will want to register it so nobody else can use your nickname when you're gone, to do this type:

/ns register [choose a password] [your e-mail]

I have the ForgeIRC in my Bookmark Toolbar so it's always easily accessible. I really hope this helps to populate the ForgeIRC, so please come along... Join us in the IRC, don't be afraid. We don't bite =]

For any more details and the IRC rules check out the IRC Chat link on the front page.
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=OtO0-8g1zWoThe thumbnail was totally unintentional btw... lol...
Now you should have ChatZilla up and running, you should be able to log in and everything should be working fine. but it's annoying when you open ChatZilla and is asks you login each time, by typing /msg NickServ IDENTIFY password.
Well here's how you set Chatzilla to auto log in for you =]

Now make sure ChatZilla is open then go to the menu named ChatZilla, then click Preferences.

You should see something on the left called irc.bungie.org with #ForgeHub below it. Click on irc.bungie.org. On the right you will see a tab labeled List.

In the Auto-Perform box click Add..., and now type /msg NickServ IDENTIFY yourpassword. Click okay, and okay again and it should be working fine =]

Close ChatZilla and open it again to test it out =]

What Is Skype?
Skype is a FREE chat program. You can talk to all your friends on it.

What Type of Chat dose it have?
Skype features Voice Conversations, Video Conversations and regular Text.

How many People can talk in One Conversation?
There is no limit to how many people can talk in one conversation. They record the Forgecast via Skype.

Can Skype Ever cost money?
The only time Skype will cost money is when your calling a house with it, or putting Skype credit on it. These features are not necessary.

1. Installing Skype

The very first thing you're going to have to do is navigate Here for PC And Here for Mac

Once you're there you'll get a page that looks like this:

Or this :

Click the top right cornor where it says "Download".

You will be re-directed to this page:

After you will get this icon on your desktop. Run it, then click install:

2. Make an Account

Its not hard, Just fill in your information, You don't half to but I advice making your name your forgehub name so we know who you are. You don't half to but I suggest you do.
