Facility P435

Facility P435

After learning about the ghost merging glitch I started experimenting around with what I could do with it. I tried a few things on sandbox but they never really went anywhere, so I decided to try something in the back area of foundry, and thats how this map came to be. Almost every piece is geomerged somewhere, which it paid off in the end, because it allowed hallways to have a different size than the usual.

Facility P435 is a small-medium sized map located in the back corner of foundry and goes partly into the other part as well. It fits about 2-6 players the best, but 4v4 works fine as well. The weapon layout is pretty simple, the only two power weapons on the map are a bruteshot and a shotgun. There is also an active camo. The rest of the guns are mostly battle rifles, but there are a few assault rifles and one pair of smgs and spikers. The map is set up for KOTH, oddball, CTF, assault and of course slayer.

(We all know thats all you care about)

As requested, heres an overview. It is very rough, but it helps show the layout.
1st. Floor is Blue
2nd. Floor is Green
The original map geometry are the black lines
Gray areas are places that cant be reached
Stairs are red
Blue with green lines means there is a first and second floor in that spot.

The main area, near the defenders base, this is where most of the action occurs

Another shot of the main area

Some of the hallways below the main level (note how almost every piece was geomerged)

The hallway that leads from the main area to the attackers base if you keep going.

Another shot of the same hallway from the other end, by the attackers base.

The active camo which is located in the middle of the hallway in the previous pictures.

The defenders base, it looks small, but back hallway is open too, which is plenty of space.

The attackers base, pretty straightforward, a room with some boxes in it. You can't see it, but you can jump on a box to get to the back hallway, which then leads you to the main area.

Quality looking map and i like the use of foundry. Aesthetics look good and nice geomerging. The only think is i think i see an area for grenade loss, in picture 7 right as you walk out i see a fence wall (i think) and not only does it look bad but it also probably causes for grenade loss.

Zombie escape map. 99% (gotta fix a few bugs)
Phoenix Base (James Bond Nightfire Remake) 20%

I see the spot your talking about, and I'm not sure if it will cause grenade loss, because that space is already there in the default maps geometry, so it might be blocked off from an invisible wall, i don't know though.

...Wow.

I've been absent from Forgehub for a while, and boy have the standards gone up. The Geomerging is not as noticeable as in other maps, and I love how the map complicates itself into several large battle areas and the chasms in between...

And another thing... don't tell people to make more gametypes on your map because that just goes against the rules. Don't be lazy, I hate lazy people when it comes to adding more gametypes.

But more importantly, the map is awesome. The aesthetics are right on using a Foundry/Facility theme. The forging is on the nail regarding the cleanliness of the map, and the gameplay is solid and puts a twist not on most Foundry maps. Incredible job.

Can YOU beat it???

Haha, yes they have. Actually, there has been so many wonderfully made maps aesthetically that people are almost ignoring gameplay for the most part, and I find that annoying. Dont worry though, because this map does not lack good layout. Its a little weird and has some strange things, like that random fence wall that someone mentioned in picture seven, but overall its an amazing map. And i dont see why you complain about merging into foundry with a super-speed glitch, when a month ago it would have taken 100s of hours to build what you have right there. Or, try interlocking and geomerging over 50 double blocks and walls into an aesthetically pleasing perfect square, inside the skybubble barrier so that you can still see the grid. Now, do that with the old methods. Anyway, other than that someone annoying comment I think this is an amazing map, and I am frusterated that you finished before me. Thats happening alot recently...

love the merging, ghost merging realy makes a difference doesnt it?
I would have to say its not my kind of map tthough. I like more open maps for bring, but the merging is great and its design is pretty well thought out. Good job.

im working on trying to make one in paint, ill see if i can have it up by tommorow night, its more difficult than you would think cuz my mouse is kind of broken. And if you play the map, its not that bad actually, there are a few different ways to go, but its pretty easy to find your way around.

Edit: The overview is up

The reason I had said the thing about the gametypes was because I put in the ones that i thought would be played by other people, I didn't mean for it to come across as lazy, i just didnt think there was a point to adding those other ones, but i wanted people to know they could if they wanted. My bad.

this map is definit quality. i gave it a dl about an hour ago, and forged through it with the expectation of another cramped, enclosed, foundry map. what i found was a map with flow, great los, smooth interloxs, and a feeling that: i am inside, but i can still move around. the only "flaw" that i thought might make a difference, is that there is only one power weapon, i would have liked to see more -a few maulers maybe?-, but i don't really know where you could have put it/them.

my  maps
