Induction

Induction
Here is my newest map, Induction. Ive had this map made for a long time but because of football it took me forever to test it and tweak the map, and now finally i could get around to publishing it. I have started numerous competitive maps but usually something in the creation process makes me lose interest and delete it. This is one of the few maps that i actually completely finished, and I'm pretty happy with it. I also made it work with ALL gametypes (besides VIP, I didn't feel like putting that in) even infection, although i wouldn't recommend it for anything but slayer, assault and ctf. It plays pretty well with 4v4 but my friends that helped test it liked it the most when it was 2v2.
Pictures!
Overview of the Map

Some of the forging (I put the most effort into this map to make it look good) also where the sniper is and where the teleporter from each base leads to.

Another shot of the middle area, other side though, rockets are against the wall. The tunnel on the left leads to the blue base, tunnel on the right leads to the red base.

Where the tunnel from the previous picture leads into the red base

Taken from the same spot as the previous picture, but turned to the left about 90 degrees

If you walked forward from the spot in the previous picture and turned, you'd be here. You can also get an idea of where the base opens up to in the middle area.

This is taken from the ledge going along the middle area by rockets, on the red side

I only showed pictures of the red side because the blue side is identical in every way. Thanks for looking at my map and I'm hoping for your downloads and comments!

Download Induction
(When you download it will say made by Biwer71, thats my other account)

This looks pretty decent, I'll DL and take a look and I promise I'll get back to you within the next couple of days as I'm busy myself at the moment. Like I said, it looks promising.

Edit : Really like the layout, its a classic design which is proven to work and its got your own twist on it. I would suggest that you remove the large corners in the middle arena as they don't fit and don't add to gameplay much. Replace them with a merged single box half into the ground and closer towards the centre so there is enough space to walk around them, or something similar.

The forging is pretty good but little touch ups will do wonders to the overall feel and aesthetics of the map, clean all the jagged edges up and try to close any small gaps present. There are some avoidable bumps such as the tube corners cropping up in the walkways above them. I would geo-merge them into the ground which will also enable to you remove the tube ramps saving you money and objects. I can see this being a great map for CTF and similar objective games, with some readjustments and a general clean up of the map, it can be much better.

Looks awesome, most people try to use the whole crypt but i see you've sectioned off some of the map. make sure no-one can get out(tip-place diagonal walls over edges)
maybe add some more cover under and around the oversheilds.

After Downloading and doing a forge through I must say that the overall layout of this map is awesome and original. However, It is easily escapable and we all know there is going to be that one guy who just wont cooperate. I noticed that you still have about 5-6 objects left to use, I would recommend using some Block, Doubles or Block, Huges of wall off some of the easier escapable sections. If after you've hit the OLN(Object Limit Number) and it's still breakable then don't sweat it, My map Barren Creek is escapable(and it's at the OLN) and people still love it. Also I'm not sure if you are aware, but don't use a blank sandbox canvas to build your maps. Intead keep all the default items(default items don't count towards the OLN) on the maps so that way when you hit the OLN you'll have all those to continue building. For example, Lets say you build a map completely and your only 3 objects away from hitting the OLN. Then you realize that you still need spawn points. Well now your only going to be able to put 3 respawn points and your map will be ruined. If you were to leave all the default items then you would have 73 spawn points to work with. The OLN is 309 so be aware when making future maps.

Keep up the good work,

thanks for the suggestion, ive never used oln maps because the default pieces dont cooperate when im trying to interlock them, but for things like spawn points or the occasional piece that doesnt need to be interlocked, thats a good idea that ill probably start doing.
