Jungle Fever

^Click for download link^
Jungle Fever is my first map on Foundry and my 4th overall. Like all my previous maps I aimed at creating a balanced and multi-dimensional layout perfect for both team and free-for-all games. The map provides a variety of situations, ranging from close quarter battles under the fencewalk to across-the-map sniper confrontations. The map is symmetrical and has several places of value which attracts players and has proven to provide intense, unpredictable action.

Due to the fact I focused mainly on gameplay, the aesthetics are not the best. However I believe this sacrifice is worth it as Jungle Fever is my best map so far, in terms of game play and replayability.

The map supports all gametypes excluding infection and MLG (I may release a MLG version) and 2-8 players. I recommend 3v3 Team BRs and KOTH FFA as these have excelled in testing.

Thanks again to Jameslieb1 for rendering this for me, much appreciated mate!

This is amazingly smooth for foundry, and the fence floor adds a nice touch allowing shots to go from one level to another. The merging also gives this some really great angles. Everything seems perfect, a definite download.

Thanks for the comments guys, hope you all enjoy the map. Anyone got any criticisms? I'm submitting this map to atlas soon so if anyone had any problems please let me know.

I've added a video with the help of jameslieb1, which shows the start of a King game during testing.

I've got your criticisms right here mister, a whole bag full of 'em. But seriously I am a fan of this map. The layout is very smooth, and one of the best attributes of this map is the use of ramps to create small but constant changes in elevation. This will put your aiming skills to the test. The center structure is very nice as well, and the use of the fence walls for flooring looks great and provides some interesting gameplay options. So here are a few suggestions that I could come up with after playing a few games.
I would really like to see some of the power weapons moved from the middle. Ex: removing the shotgun and having a brute shot on each side, maybe near the truck. I would also like to see the power drain moved further away from the rockets so they could be used to counter the rockets (maybe move to shotgun spawn?). It probably wouldn't hurt to drop the respawn times on the snipers and even the rockets a little, but it's up to you. I would also recommend removing most of the frags, because everyone spawns with 2 and there are plenty to pick up from dead bodies (you could even remove a couple stickies). A couple more KoTH spawns would be nice (perhaps near or even around the smg spawns). You need to look at the starting spawns in ctf because I believe there was one for the attackers and defenders on each side. Like I said earlier, I like the map the way it is now and these are just some suggestions that may (or may not) help to improve it.

Crimson Hayabusa = me.

Wow. I had a lot of fun on this map for FFA, even though it was only me, you, and Hectic. Anyway, my only complaint is that I spawned in the exact same place over and over again. Might want to add more. OR, tweak respawn areas for FFA. Other than that, the middle is amazing, and the walkways are beast. Great job.

Thanks for that ehand, really appreciate the in-depth feedback and I'm glad you had fun. Like I told you before I'm removing some stickies and considering a shuffle round of the power weapons.

Likewise, thanks melt for helping me out with no notice.

Now, onwards to atlas!
