Introduction
Hello everyone, I am very pleased to present you today with: Obstructed. This Blackout map is one of the first maps to use the No-Clip glitch yet to be posted on F101. I'm not claiming it is the first to use it, but I have only seen 1 or two other maps that use this trick. Enough with the glitch, onward to the map itself.
Description
The primary concept when I was making this map was to block off all indoor places in blackout and have multiple additional walkways traveling off from where the door used to be. I wasn't going to be all noobish and use doors. I wanted to stand out. All entry-ways were blocked off using a type of block, e.g. double block, single block etc...
After all the entryways were blocked, Walkways needed to be built so your not just stuck at a dead end. This became a problem due to the railings on the built-in walkways. For each new one, a small ramp had to be merged into place. Now, I understand that there may be some bumps. They're so small, you don't even notice them when actually playing the game. That was one thing that I was concerend about before playtesting, but it came out fine. The wepons also changed during the delveopment.
Originaly the power wepons were shotty, rockets, and mauler; but due to the playtesters' comments, I swapped the rockets with an 8-shot sniper. This seamed to work out quite well actually.

Obstructed currently (V1.0) supports the folowing gametypes:
  • FFA Slayer
  • KOTH
  • Team KOTH
  • FFA Oddball

SMG (x2)
Mauler(x1, 45 Sec, 1 clip)
Shotgun (x1, 90 Sec, 0 clips)
Sniper (x1, 150 Sec, 1 clip)

16 Frag Grenades
16 Plasma Grenade
2 Bubble Sheild
1 Power Drainer
1 Regenerator
1 Active Camo

Nice marging. I just saw your post int he New forge Glitch thread. For this merging technique to only be out for a week or so you sure did an excellent job. Congrats on a great map. I just hope the gameplay is as amazing as the asthetics.

wow that is an amazing amount of brilliant geo merging in this map and that is a great idea to block off the interior and add in a bunch of new walkways and higher up areas

what is the no clip glitch can you post a link to it

did you use the new glitch for this? if not, great geomerging, and if yet...still amazing work.

the added objects really add a new demension to blackout, it seems like it might also make a good template as well.

To answer everyone's questions:
This was done using the No-Clip glitch. Does it make it easier? Yes. Just because it took half the time, does it mean you still shouldn't respect the map. No. Because you No-Clipped, it means your not a good forger and can't geomerge any of these? No, and I would like to see the best geo-merger on earth to attempt this and see how long it takes.

Anyway, this looks epic. It also looks like you had a lot of fun. I really hope that this will be the first of many new ideas being built in places other than sandbox or foundry. I downloaded this, and I say; FORGING FTW

Lol, not a lot of people know about. Just the people who happen to stumble upon the thread in Forge Discussion. Just wait until the F101 comes out, then everyone will know. And btw, see if you can get this map as an example or somthing to what you can easily do with no-clipping. I feel like I really adding somthing to the community about this whole new glitch. From discovering the invis-object glitch fix to making the first published no-clipped map. :)

This map really inspires me to build a non-foundry/sanbox map. This would normally take extreme precision and a lot of time, but with the no-clip glitch, anything is possible.

Wow! Glad to see that this glitch can actualy be used successfully in a map. Gotta dl this one!

Thanks for all the comments! I am planning on updating this after awhile. I was thinking about replacing the shotgun with a 0-clip 150 respawn rocket. I also plan on noclipping a small wall in the center platform in place of the crates and stuff, to make the map a little less open, ya'know? Can I get some feedback on those changes?
