Jeroboam

Jeroboam
Avast ye!!

Download Map

Welcome to my adventurous new proving ground, constructed out of materials salvaged from the Nantucket whale ship, Jeroboam.

Jeroboam is a vehicular competitive map, distinguished by a complete racetrack linking the bases. It's loosely based on Rat's Nest, floating high in the sky bubble. It provides a rather unique environment for games such as Slayer, Multi Flag, and Neutral Assault.

There are 4 structures, one on each leg of the square racetrack. The starboard base (red), the larboard (whaling-era term for port) base (blue), the crow's nest at the bow, and the Crossbow at the stern. There is also a plate structure in the center.

upper deck of the larboard base with 1 Warthog and 1 Mongoose

lower deck of the larboard base with 1 Mongoose and a Rocket Launcher

Center plate with Grav Hammer

Crow's nest with Fuel Rod Gun

Crossbow section with the Snipe Rifle and Chopper

Now to the action shots. The racetrack goes all the way around, straight through all of the bases.

That's about it, as always, enjoy and thanks for playing!!

With out a doubt, one of the most unique sky bubble maps I have ever seen. I really like how you incorporated vehicles into the sky bubble, and on a competitive map nonetheless. Another thing I also like about it is the use of the Fuel Rod Gun, considering how its use is generally neglected. I'll definitely be downloading this and running a full game on it.

I don't know if I'd want to play Territories or King here, but it's set up for anything. Oddball is a good one. The map is symmetrical.

I do recommend BR starts for everything, though.

This is the map style I have always wanted to see. Racing CTF. I thank you for your wonderful forging. It looks quite well built. But, by any chance was this styled at all like Rat's Nest?

Pred edit: yeah, it's in the OP. The paragraph under the whale drawing.

This is my absolute favorite map ever. If it pwned anymore noob, I might not be able to handle it. The basic idea, the twisty design; it's all just so awesome.
Incredible job! 5/5

wow. When I first looked at the map in forge, I imediately was reminded of one of those hot wheels tracks. =) Well, anyways, this map was great. I really hope to get a game on it soon. Also, I like how you took a depiction of a boat, and supposedly made a racetrack of it, and tried to make it like rats nest. I thought it was very creative, and this map is probably the best I have seen in a while. I found no problems other than this: Are the double walls supposed to be at an angle, to make a racetrack kind of feel? Just wondering cause i thought it was unique. Nice map! Hope to get a game on it soon. Ps- would this map support rocket race? =)

I love this map, Pred. In fact I love it so much, Sarge and I messed around on it by ourselves for a good half hour a couple nights ago. Check out some shenanigans:

Pred edit: in the OP ;)

Damm I was about to make a map just like this (think i still will). However I dont think it could be as good as this. This is brilliant and very creative. I love CTF and vehicle maps. THIS HAS BOTH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I assume you're talking about the corners - they are slightly banked to function like a racetrack. Also, ehhh I really don't think Rocket Race would work too well. Actually, let me go ahead and make that a definate statement since spawns are all over the map, not grouped around the Mongooses. There are VIP waypoints (all on the racetrack), so it may function on a basic level, but it's just not going to be a good RR experience compared to real RR maps. You're welcome to try it and see how it goes.

Thanks for the comments :)
