At Making YouTube Videos of Maps

Description:

Floating over the side of Avalanche, this 3 story base carries lots of fire power, but not a ridiculous amount. The main armaments are the Wraith, Chopper, Banshee and missle pod, the attackers spawn with 3 banshees and two hornets. Attackers must plant the bomb on the main level of the base, quick flights with the hornet coming around theleft side of the base is the safest, but remember to have a banshee wingman. The base, being three leveled, doesnt look large from the outside, but seems big andairy on the inside, players are able to move around freely, and in testing, basicly no one fell off the sides. I highly reccomend playing 3V3 arctic assault, anything over 4v4 though gets to be a little hectic.

Story:

One day I saw a topic in forging discussion about floating forge canvases off the side of avalanche, that gave me an idea, I was to completely fill the side of avalanche with equaly elevated bridges to hold up double boxes and such.

Halfway through, or more like a quarter through, I stopped and decided to make my own map atop the bridges, after searching for ideas, I decided it to be a cross of a map in between my map "Scramble", and the map "Hail Mary", thus I decided for it to be a 1 flag/ bomb map. Building three levels was not that hard, I made my first level out of 3 rows of 4 double boxes, then, putting 1 bridge going up, and one going down, I rested the double boxes on those bridges, and made walkways going to the upper level Wraith Mortar, and the downstairs Hangar. I made the attackers base quite simple, a tower with a machine gun turret, 3 banshees, 2 hornets, and the base that everyone could go in but not out, so there is no possible spawn killing. THERE ARE NO ARMORIES ON THIS MAP. Quite amazingly, well not really, there are no armories on this map, though half of the weapons list could be listed as power weapons, it works out very well.

Gameplay:

Gameplay for both sides is equaly as fun, the defenders have unique and interesting ways of defending the base and lots of room to walk around with out falling, while the attackers get the "Hail Mary" kind of gameplay going, intense, fast, strategic, and FUN. Fast banshee strafes from the attackers match up to the power of the defenders power weapons, ultimatly making for balanced and fun gameplay.

Strategy:

Keep a wingman in a banshee with you at all times, especialy to distract the missle pod away from the hornet, quick flights with the hornet coming around theleft side of the base is the safest, but remember to have a banshee wingman at all times. Chopper is not used much, but can be dangerous, sentinel beam is very powerful, wraith is underated, rockets are handy for closeby banshees, you will find a bubble shield next to the rocket launcher, it is very valuable, and will save you a lot. Stay in touch with your teamates, otherwise it will be very hard to try and plant the bomb, because a hornet is needed to get the bomb carrier to the base. Or you could try carrying the bomb carrier on a banshee like Youtuber and Whats a scope tried, but I wouldnt suggest it ;). A strategic jump is jumping from the top or middle level down to the bottom level, the hangar, which houses a pair of plasma pistol and SMG, a fuel rod gun, a rocket nook, and a power drainer, not to mention a banshee, which spawns for the defending team every 60 seconds. For the attacking team, DRIVE CAREFULLY, people who fly too close to the base will often get highjacked, resulting in the defending team, now to have more vehicles AND power weapons than the attacking team, so watch out. getting highjacked is costly, especialy the fall.

Outcast definately looks like a great twist on Scramble, and Hail Marry ROFLninja! Although I can always see improvement on any Avalanche map, that usually being color coding or even geomerging. The defender base looks wonderful, and I'm glad it's not just some random floating platform that's all boring and flat. The attacker base is also very thoughtful, seeing as you blocked off the spawns so the defenders can't spawn camp. Although I'm sure I could come up with better criticism if I actually played the map, I don't have access to my Xbox at the moment, and I've hit the content limit. I'll make sure to download Outcast as soon as I can ROFL! Why didn't the testers even post on the map? You'd think at least one of the testers would have noticed this posted.

Edit: I might be back with a review, but please change the name of the map to just Outcast before I FUCKIN RIP YOUR FUCKIN HEAD OFF, =)

I remember looking at this when you were forging it, but never got a chance to play it because I can never load avalanche -_-. I will try to get a game in on it tonight if my xbox wants to cooperate.

Outcast Review
I know this isn't as fancy of a review as I did for AceOfSpade's most recent racetrack, but that's because I've decided to finally just post a review that's short and quick to the point.

Outcast was a throughly enjoying Avalanche map. The video might do a great job at displaying the map's gameplay, but I knew that I had to play it myself before I actually reviewed it. Either it would be worse, or it would be better than the video displayed. But this was definitely better than the video might make the average Forge Hub user think. While playing, I could have figured out myself that it was a cross between Hail Marry and Scramble without even reading the thread. The defender base is amazing to defend, even when I'm left behind without a vehicle, I don't have to sit and wait for another vehicle to spawn, because I can easily defend the base from the inside as well as the outside. Outcast felt like a competitive map, but was still enjoying to play. I always felt like I had a job to do, whether I was a defender or an attacker.

I cannot think of a single complaint towards Outcast, and that is a fact. ROFL, all I can say is the next time you forge an Avalanche map, please color code the boxes. I don't care how difficult it is, it makes the map looks so much more pretty when you're playing it... Teehehe!

Remember ROFL, there is always room for improvement, even if that improvement doesn't effect gameplay. Though think of it this way, this thread is rated out of 5. So divide 9 by 2 and you get 4.5. Let's round that to 5 and never speak of this again. Outcast deserves more attention you guys! Not a single one of the testers posted, even if they didn't like Outcast, they can still post feedback. I've seen a map thread without pictures get at least 12 posts telling the author how to imbed pictures, the least you guys could do is download the map and post feedback!

9/10
