Nightmare v3

This is my first map that I have built in the mythic map pack era. I have many more to come so no worries. Nightmare v3 is a continuation of my past map Nightmare. It was originaly designed on foundry but in the process of remaking it, sandbox was released. I never posted a v2 for Nightmare on forgehub. The v2 was some gameplay improvments and some new weapon placements but it wasnt a huge deal. After countless hours of work and testing, I have finished Nightmare v3....

Weapons...
- 4 Battle Rifle
- 4 SMG
- 4 Spikers
- 8 Plasma nades
- 1 Sword
*In the past people have always told me to change the sword for the shotgun. Why? Personaly, I have always been a huge fan of the sword especially at this map. I feel that the sword is an iconic halo weapon and it is very easy to notice. It seems to strike more fear into the enemy than a shotgun that most players wont even notice what your holding. It is also a perfect rush weapon for this map. So from that, I hope you agree with me that a sword is a good choice for this map. If you still feel that a shotgun would be better, feel free to explain why.

Gametypes...
*This map works with ALL gametypes though I suggest you mainly play the following...
- FFA/Team Slayer
- FFA/Team Oddball
- FFA/Team King of the Hill
- This isnt a gametype but I have noticed that a lot of people really enjoy an all sword battle here, just wanted to point that out...

And now for the much loved Pictures...

This is the overview of Nightmare v3

Blue base

Red Base

Middle
*Note how the wall corners are angled. This provide maximum cover from high altitude fire. This is one new feature to the Nightmare maps.

Well, I hope you guys strongly enjoyed my newest map...

I would like to thank all of those who helped me test this map and for there patience in letting me finaly finish.
And thanks for all of you for checking out my maps...

This map look very sleak with the layout of the scenery. It looks good for team doubles cause it's pretty small, but Im not judging about gameplay, it just looks good. Fine job.

Great Map, I agree with you that the sword is better I've always preffered it to the shotgun, anyway The map looks great,And on thw whole your interlocking is smooth however ther are a few points that could be better tbut that would be for purely aesthetic purposes, I'll DL tomorrow and test it out with a few friends.

Do you guys seriously only look at scenery? The spawn camping could be bad on the map and it's extremely small.

This map reminds of Assembly. It is about the same size and there are lots of camping spots. You should twist this up a bit. Put towers or little buildings. If you make it bigger, than the bigger your download count would be.
As for the shotgun and sword disagreement, I believe you should put in a shotgun. I think that a sword would cause more deaths because with a shotgun, you can actualy shoot. You have to charge with a sword. Plus the victims don't have anything to defend against a sword with if the predator gets too close.

This map is loaded with cover and most spawns, you are completely hidden from the enemy. Rarely would any one spawn on the courtyard area near the sword. Most are at the base or on the sides. I have yet to have a spawn killing situation here.

I agree with FreshCherry, you should take out the sword and put in the shotgun. With such a small map there is nothing to defend against the sword. At least with the shotgun you can kill the holder with suppressive br fire.

Maps in progress:

Quarry (crypt, competitive)- 65%
?Name? (crypt, competitive)- 40%
Urban Control (middle floor, territories/KOTH)- 25%
CTF map (crypt, competitive)- 70%
ODST Storyline (many maps, gametypes)- 1/5 done
Sandstorm (skybubble, infection)- designing
Medic (unsure of map, VIP)- designing

You can kill the sword holder by suppressive br fire as well. You can actualy kill most players with suppressive br fire. Oh and there are plenty to defend against the sword. First of all, your holding a sword which will completely give away your cover and who has the power weapon. The entire opposing team will target you. From gameplay tests, most kills were from grenades and from the br towers. Gameplay really doesnt revolve around the sword as much as one would think...

This is the map. One for the ages. I've always been into this kind of 'arena' maps. I already made my own 'KillHill', arena-based map which I should remake due to it's gameplay-wise flaws. Feel free to check it out if you want. I like the feeling of classic H2 maps like Foundation, Warlock, Desolation ( I dont remember those names, I mix Warlock and Des :P ) Awesome, man.
This map I will definitely download by the way.

And if you don't mind, I'll make a new version of my KillHill somehow bigger and wider, a bit like this map of yours?

5/5, definitely.

EDIT: and, sword>shotgun ;)
