My starting concept for the map was to try and create a large Sandbox map that had a similar feel as Headlong from H2. I wanted to create a very large and imposing base that had to be scaled and cleared. I started the map in the base's stairwell which actually does have a similar look to Headlong, but from there I branched out and tried to make something original that lent itself to recreating those epic Headlong base charges.

Coventry was constructed on the main(middle) floor of Sandbox. It is an asymmetric map that was designed with one sided gametypes in mind. The attackers spawn on one sided of the map near the com tower and the defenders spawn inside a massive "base" structure. The top of the base is open and four stories high. Ways up include a three story windowed and enclosed stair well, three tube elevators(each going to a different floor), and an elevated man cannon platform that allows risk taking attackers to launch themselves just over the defensive walls. The cover approaching the base varies and includes a com tower and monitoring station(attacker spawn), The base breaching man cannon tower, and a shielded river path among others. The base towers over the landscape, so be sure to keep an eye out above you as you move in.

Gametypes:
1. Slayer/Team Slayer
2. One Flag
3. One Bomb
4. KOTH
5. Oddball
6. VIP
7. Territories
8. Infection

Weapons:
1. 10 BR's
2. 2 Brute Shots
3. 2 Sniper Rifles
4. 1 Mauler
5. 2 Needlers
6. 1 Shotgun

Equipment:
1. 1 Power Drains
2. 2 Regenerators
3. 6 Plasma Grenades
4. 2 Bubble Shields
5. 1 Flare

Please enjoy Coventry. Comments and feedback are appreciated.

1 mauler and 1 shotgun is not the way to go, my friend. Remove teh shotgunz nao.

You always manage to come up with such amazing structures for your maps. All of your maps have a similar theme: Ancient Futuristic. At least in my eyes. That huge building is stunning and the structure in the 7th picture made my jaw drop. Seriously.

Every single one of your maps does not disappoint mostly in aesthetic values.
Great job.

Love the aesthetic design on this great map and its a really good fresh idea the it seems others have not capitalised on as much most are just slayer gametypes in the crypt with no origionality. Very origional. Great map. 10/10!

Good to see something a little different here. This map has it all: outstanding gameplay, great aesthetics, and a HUGE play area. All the different elevations really add a unique quality to this map that I haven't really seen utilized in most maps. It has a very Headlong-ish feel to it. The big base is just awesome, so many ways to get in and so many ways to defend makes it ideal for 1 sided objective games. It also is great for TS and KOTH. Awesome, awesome job on this map, Maki, 10/10. Had a great time in those games yesterday, bro. Even though we got absolutely slaughtered on that territories game, lol.

My Maps:
Sandbox:
Undertow(Symmetrical skybubble)
Mettle(Skybubble arena)
Scorpio(Gemini Remake)
Foundry:

Crazy man. I love all these structures I hav never seen before. This is probibly the best asymetrical map I have seen on sandbox. The whole layout of the map is genius. The cover of the map looks very good. I also like how you made the bases, but my favorite asethetic part of the map is the tin cup interlocked into the circle.

Yeah, we did get our asses kicked, but I was very happy with the way the game played. Territories, One Bomb, and One Flag were awesome. There's definitely a learning curve on the map just because the base is pretty intricate, but after a couple of matches it seems like people learn their way around. Thanks for testing it with me. Looking forward to your amazing Gemini remake.....clocks ticking for the contest.

Nope it's named after Coventry, Vermont. Seeing that it's and east coast city, though, I'm sure that early American settlers just the ripped the name of from you guys. I did choose the name because it had and English feel to it.
