Strongholds

Map Name: Strongholds

Map Description: An assymetric map that is symmetrical in it's assymetricality, Strongholds features two opposing bases. A blue, platform-style base in one corner, and a red, cave/mountain side-style base in the opposite corner. Man Cannons make for quick trips back and forth between the bases which are otherwise difficult to access. Tall structures combine with long ranges contribute to an interesting verticality of gameplay. A large, relatively open floor makes for easy use of the two available warthogs.

This is my first map, so please let me know what you think!

well this is a pretty cool looking map, nice designs with the bases. with the (what im guessing) red base, it seems thats 2times bigger than the blue base, i know its asymmetrical, but to that much of a disadvantage? i dont know, seems a little unfaire to me. you put a lot of work into the bases, but not alot into the center...just the usual design peple are coming up with. sadely i cant think of anythign else to add to this comment, but good job with the map. and Welcome to ForgeHub =]

Well,
First off very interesting design you made and its in the crypt. This map is very unique and creative. I only see some small problems. The gametypes you have don't seem to fit to well with the map. Slayer i think would work out due to the bases be totally different (one being like 3 times bigger than the other and having much more cover and such. and i don't really see from the pictures any good hill spots for any king of the hills games but one bomb, 1 flag ect. would be great with it. Weapon list looks good with the size of map. but good job and keep on forging :D 3/5

Thanks for your input longshot, biff.
I realize the mountain side seems like there's much more cover, but feel that the speed with which blue can get to high up on the mountain negates much of that bonus. Also, it's much more difficult to enter the blue base than the red, which makes it much more defensible than it seems. The king of the hill hills actually work out really well.
I'd love to get a couple 12 player games going on it and see how it plays. Thanks for the comments
