Aberrant, as the name suggests, is very unique. Now at a glance, it may not seem like it, but the frantic and unmatched mix of gameplay is something special (not bragging). Aberrant is a symmetric/asymmetric (fully symmetric, but not mirror image) map. AND UNDER BUDGET!! Essentially, every object touching the floor or wall is merged, and every object touching another is interlocked. The gameplay is extremely fast-paced and very unique. The various routes to each destination seem to create a new experience each time you spawn. OK I will try to keep everyone's attention by attempting to explain the rest through pictures.

The Bases:
^A Base^

*B Base is the same.*

Man Cannon:
^On each side, there is a man cannon that takes you right to the middle (rocket bridge). This adds some elements of aerial combat, which is part of the different type of gameplay that Aberrant has to offer.

Bunkers:
^This is one of the bunkers where snipers spawn (2minutes)

Under the bridge:


KEY FEATURES:

*The mancannons which take players to rockets help for quick movement from one side to the middle.

*The timer I have made (there will be a section lower down explaining this.)

*Power weapons (Rockets, and 2 Snipers) are on drop spawns for accurate timing, and hooked to my original timer.

*All objective markers have been interlocked/ merged/ or out of the way eliminate bumps.

THE TIMER:

Above rockets in the middle, there is a single box in the air. On the bottom side, there is a powerup. At the start, it is yellow, and after 2 minutes it turns to orange. This lets you know that the 2 snipers have spawned. 1 minute later (3 minutes total) it turns white, to let you know rockets have spawned.



Now youre thinking, "hmm well that will only help for the first set of spawns, and besides who wants to look at the ceiling anyways." And I thought of that too. Outside of the map (back in the bases of default foundry) i have fusion coils that are set to drop. One every 2 minutes (snipers spawn) and one every 3 minutes (rockets spawn). So when you hear an explosion, you know that a power weapon has respawned. the fusion coils are on opposite sides, so if you become familiar enough with Aberrant, you should know what weapon has spawned from where the explosion takes place.

Weapons List (to the best of my memory):
BR x 6
AR x 2
Carbine x 2 (1 min?)
P Pistol x 2 (1 min?)
Rockets x 1 (3 mins)
Snipers x 2 (2 mins)
SMG x 4
Frag x 4
Plamsa Nade x 4 (20 sec)

Other Notes:

-The on-and-off forging of Aberrant started before the New Year.
-Although Aberrant is fully symmetric, 1 Flag CTF strangely emerges as the most intense and fun gametype.
+Other stuff i wanted to say, but have forgotten now.

Nice map! I like the design and the idea you have with the power-ups so players can tell what has respawned. Although I think that the map would be much smoother in interlocking if you were to interlock the double wall (in pic#1) into the two double boxes that is supporting it at the moment. Other than that you map looks really cool with design layout and the interlocking looks great!

The names R.J and forging is my specialty!

This Map Makes me Wanna play Foundry again!
even though i have the new maps.
[4.6 out of 5.]
i cant give you a 5 because i dont have my 360 right now and cant play it yet. but im quite positive it will be a 5.

When I first took a look I thought it would just be another one of those maps my buddy made but then I saw all the pic's

This map has Clean Geomerging and Interlocking, and you can barley see those man cannons and they work!

For constructive criticism, the orange to white light is cool, but I not really going to know when the weapons respawn because a power-up spawned.
Unless you set them to 'Never' respawn and you made place at start 'No' weapons in the same place. :l

Overall I think it's well played and very sheik.

If you were to actually read the section devoted to explaining the timer and not just looking over pictures and making judgments, you would have known that the powerup timer only works for the first set of spawns on the weapons and that there is an audial timer outside of the map to let you know. Look before you leap next time.

I like this quite a bit, actually. All of the intersecting and geo-merging is very clean, which is always great. The power-up idea is really original and could actually help a bit. Nice job, 4.5/5 from me.

Great map but there are a few things wrong with it. Like the Sniper Rifles and Rockets should be more spaced out someone could easily get both in the beginning and camp back at the base. Otherwise great job and everyone look out for my map for MLG game types, that is somewhat like MLG Regicidev2, it will be released in maybe early June, late May.

Please dotn double post. your second post was not needed at all. Your spamming up the thread, and it is also not a place to try to promote your maps or ask for help, a PM or a signature containing that info should be sufficient. And about the 2 snipers, i dont think it is that likely to get both considering; if a player form each team grabs one at the beginning or at the spawns, similar to The Pit's sniper situation. Plus, on Aberrant, there is no place to really camp, where a sniper would be too dominant.
