Lasting Chaos

Gametype: Mini-Conquest

Have you ever wanted a 1v1 conquest? Look no further, as Mini-Conquest is here to fill all your small party conquest needs...

Intro:
Lasting Chaos started, as most maps do, with an idea. I noticed that in FH’s Book Of Conquest there were no Conquest/Conquest Variants on Last Resort. I wanted to fix that. I first thought of making something like Tunnel Raid, but realized that there was really no way to make a symmetrical map like that. I then tried to find ways to make full use of Last Resort’s map geometry, and soon found that the defender’s base would probably be the best place to start making a conquest map. I first tried to make a 4 way conquest map, but that utterly failed. So after testing that I removed half of the map, and just made a Mini-Conquest. So, being in the forging stage for about 2 months now, I present to you Lasting Chaos.

Mini-Conquest:
Lasting Chaos uses a custom game variant called “Mini-Conquest”. This gametype is much like the regular conquest however there are several changes. I kept the territory capture time, most of the player traits, and much of the spawn traits. However I did make your spawn time 5 seconds instead of 10; I removed sudden death, and I made you invulnerable for only 1 second when you spawn. There are also some other minor changes. However, the reason I made these changes is because of the size of the map. There are only 3 territories and the map is very small. I would recommend 2-6 players for best gameplay results. The map is intended for 2v2.
Weapons:
  • Sniper X2
  • Plasma Rifles X4
  • SMG X4
  • Frags X2
  • Spikes X4

I didnt like it that much.
Twas the same scenario over and over again. It didn't keep me excited consistently.

The map needed more attention on the "basement"
I wouldnt hide down there due to the fact that anybody can tell if someone is down there or not.

It sounds like a great concept for 2v2, although the map just made the gameplay a bit choppy. Run and gun the whole game. Which usually isnt very successful.

Its nearly impossible to have good spawns on such a small map, so I wouldnt really like to touch up on that. Although, that 2 second Invincibility really did help lesson Spawn Killing.

My rating:
2/5.
For reasons previously stated.

I was one of the testers for this map and personally, I liked it. I thought it was very fun for 2v2 and the 1 second invincibility is great. It is also very unique and stands out for its originality. I give it a 4/5

Simply because I like a change of pace. Most maps I create are on Foundry, but could I really make the map "look" the same aesthetically on Foundry? I also don't have sandbox.
