Gillocee


Gillocee (pronounced Jil-o-see) best with 8-14 players

Halo 3 File Details

Skybubble variant, has a guitar shape with sniper on the neck and rockets on the bottom of the belly.

Here is a picture from above sniper side.(sniper is found on the double block by the half-door, if you will)


The two bases are across from eachother at the belly region. Rockets are closer to both teams than the sniper is. The map is somewhat basic and symmetrical.

*obviously the death barrier is a factor in this maptype.

I'm noticing a lot of patterns in your maps, they are all messy and clustered. Organization is key in map making. You need to figure out what your making before you start making it because this map just looks like a bunch of crap piled together. I'm sorry no dl

There doesn't seem to be a flow to this map, it's very crowded and the lines of sight don't seem that good. It's just chucked together by the looks of it. It seems like you didn't really take into account how it would play and how people would use it, it just looks like a bunch of ideas thrown together.

its not meant to be eye candy with these skins that you have to work with. the map was built to play fun custom games on. if it looks clustered or broken then you need to play on it, the aspect ratios and lines of sight are decieving in these pictures.

Why would anybody looking for a fun new variant not want to DL and try different maps... you can't base everything on screenshots.

THere looks to be a lot of jumps, and jumps can take away from the flow of gameplay. Bungie did a great job and created a object called "Ramp, Large" I think. Maybe use some more of those. It also looks like the sniper rifle would dominate as it is so powerful at long range.

The sniper has limited ammo and has a teleporter, accessible from each base, near by. Also, with active camo being underneath the sniper near the bases, great parody was created. And the jumps are part of this map. It is not loaded with tricky jumps, just areas you need to watch your step. give it a try, find out for yourself!

What you might want to try is forcing teams to go up the neck making the sniper spawn an effective choke point, instead of being out of the way.

Instead of shooting down the criticism that people give you, you should take notes and really think about it. Whether you disagree with what they are saying or not.

That said, I agree with the peanut gallery, this map looks like shit and I wont DL it.

Yes you can base alot on screenshots... and no you really dont need to play a map to feel how it plays, anyone who has played halo long enough can figure that out. and asthetics are important because it enhances gameplay and no one will download your map if it doesn't look good... anyway about the map, it looks cluttered but there are parts that i like... like the tall towers that can overlook the whole map, but besides that no a whole lot of originality here.... 2/5
