Story:

The Byzantine traveled many miles towards their village. They struggled through deserts, crossed river rapids, and hiked large mountain ranges. In the distance, they could see the Polarian Valley's collection of flowing hills and calm streams. They were relieved that after their long journey, home was just several miles away. Little did they know, much blood would soon cover the land.

The Ottoman brigade had camped along the riverbed. They were ready to fight. Their eyes blazed with fury as they readied their weapons for combat. It was almost nightfall. The sun was halfway over the horizon, leaving a red-orange shadow on the land. As, the remaining Byzantines appeared above the hill, their appetite for genocide welled up inside the squad of Ottomans. They charged over the hill, completely catching the Byzantines off-guard. They were outnumbered 5 to 1. Blood ran through the rivers as the Ottoman Turks tore through the surviving Byzantines. After the battle was done, no prisoners had been taken.

The Ottomans were still unsatisfied. Enthralled with adrenaline and the thirst for blood, they attacked the Byzantines' nearby village, driving them to complete extinction. None were left alive...

Map description:

This is a big open map with many structures. In the middle theirs a well created hill with a big cave inside it and two tunnels leading out of it. Water is dripping down off of it leading a small river then splitting off to the east and west. You can go on top of the hill several ways and theirs a sniper up there, if you grab the sniper you activate a lift to the far north making so you can easily get on top of the hill. Then to the south east theirs the pantheon (defenders base) and it has a small hole on the top of the base so you can sneak into their base. Inside there are assorted objects and a geomerged box and on that box is the flag return point. Then to the south west there's a Colosseum. The Colosseum has one arch door going to it and a big hole in the roof. On top of the roof is destroyable pillars. Same as the other base there's a geomerged box and that's where the flag return point is. In the middle east and west there are two small symmetrical huts. They have a one room inside them with a pillar in the middle. Also below the house is a small crouching basement. From the river there's a small crouching tunnel that leads to the houses. At the end of the river theirs a cool c shape formation and above it is a bridge connecting both of the east and west sides. Behind that to the very north is the switch lift and some pillars for protection. To the east and west of that there are two small bases, that is where the flags spawn. There are a couple more secrets but I will let you find those.

Weapons on map:

4 battle rifles

1 sniper rifle

2 smgs

4 spikers

4 plasma rifles

1 needler

1 plasma cannon

2 covenant carbines

2 maulers

1 fuel rod gun

1 flamethrower

Equipment on map:

2 frag grenades

4 spike grenades

1 firebomb grenade

1 bubble shield

1 power drain

1 regenerator

The Switch:

When you pick up the sniper rifle a gravity lift spawns making it possible for you to get on top of the hill a lot easier and quicker.

Well the switch is a very simple switch, you just pick up the flame grenade and it spawns behind the map and disrupts a fusion coil making it to explode a gravity lift and making the other gravity lift spawn so you can go up the lift.

Thanks and other information:

Thank you to all the play testers out there and everyone who helped with the map. We would like to include Paulie Walnuttz for helping us out with the spawns. Pmp made the awesome switch! We would also like to thank The yellow because he took most of the pictures, and Vicious Vice for the help on the spawn areas. This is the last of the ancient map pack so I hope you all like it. This is our last map of forge probably until the new map pack comes out so we will see you around.

Oh oh finally you have posted this. This one I think took you two far longer to put out there because of all the other things going on between Far Cry 2 coming out and all. But, at least you guys got it wrapped up and finished. I can say this is probably your most visually impressive map, and most difficult to make. Some of the structures like those in the corners and the river are just so accurate. It is evident that you spent a good deal of time planning every section. The weapon placement is very good as well (I halped), and offers an interesting variety for players to use. Probably one of my favorites on this map would have to be the Fuel Rod Gun. As for the gameplay I thought it was much stronger than Temple of Atlas but not quite as enjoyable and balanced as Acropolis. I can say that it all still worked out very well. Slayer is great and Flag does play. So great job and this is a great map to end Foundry on. Now, onto Far Cry 2!

This is a great visual map. Yall are one of my favorite collabaritive forgers when it comes to aesthenics; this being your best (looking). Chimpanzee was right, it does look jagged; but tha just adds to the overall feel of the map. I can't really comment on gameplay yet since my disc is still broken; I'm most likely getting a new one. But I just wanted to let you know how great this looks.
Will Edit eventually.

wow, this is one awesome map! the interlocking is great, i see geomerging and even gameplay looks great! i really do like the attacker and defender huts, but i see some holes that could be easily patched up in the ceiling, and i like the middle rive alot too.

Overall Rating: 9.5/10

The holes were meant to be there, its part of the design and you cna throw grenades in them to.

Yea you played the one with barely any spawn points and objectives, before you start saying shit about a map you should download the final one and check it out first.

Well the interlocking is supposed to be asymmetrical abstract pieces that fit together and its supposed to be an open map..

It took American and me here about 3 weeks to make this map just for you. I has been a pleasure making the ancient map pack with American had I hope you all like it. All together the Ancient Map Pack consists of Acropolis, Temple of Atlas, and the map you see here Polerian Valley.

Because many of you were complaining about how small Temple of Atlas was and how you had to crouch everywhere, we made our finale map open, big, and have outstanding game play, but we also made sure it had the same amazing aesthetics.

We would also like to thank the OtherDark for writing the story for us.

I hope you all enjoy it, and please do not forget to DL and comment.

I like the aesthetic look in this map the middle structure seems to stand out very well on this map which makes this map unique.
Nice job, although I am predicting gameplay will not be as well as it looks

This is mostly for team based games, its best on territories and multi flag.Make sure its the territory game where both teams have to get them.
