Venom

Venom
Made by The Alb1n0

Supported Gametypes:
Ven - TSlayer, Ven - MFlag, and Ven - Ball

Map Description
Venom is a well-balanced asymmetrical map on Guardian. It has a lot Ars and BRs (It has Ars because you start off with SMGs as starting weapons, Ars are a little overpowering for this map). There is also a helpful powerup in the middlethat does three things:
1) It makes your Speed 75%
2) Your damage resistance is 110%
3) Your damage modifier 150%

Weapon List:
x2 Needlers
x2 Spikers
x2 Plasma Rifles
x8 Brs
x6 Ars
x1 Mauler
x1 Beam Rifle
x2 Brute Shots

Equipment List:
x1 Custom Powerup
x4 Frags
x8 Plasmas
x1 Trip Mine
x1 Flare
Now for the Pics!

Defender's Base

Attacker's Base

Super Sexy Floating Bridge

Unstable Floating Pallets

Mauler Spawn

Sniper Spawn

Powerup

Can you think of the possibilities?

I really like that there are still people who go back to the original maps for something that isn't a minigame. I think it's really nice to see someone just go back and revamp one of the original maps we all know and love. So, right off the bat, I give you props for revamping our old Guardian.

The map looks pretty neat. Regardless of the un-user friendliness of the original map pack, you have forged ahead and added sections to the map, like your floating bridges. While not the most innovative thing in the universe, I like that you used pallets for a more malleable environment. That's pretty cool. In addition, you seem to have added a lot of power cores and batteries into the mix. I'm sure this while provide a good incentive for players to stay on the move.

Now, I have one major complaint against this map. I'm sorry, but I'm gonna have to bag on a part of this map I'm sure you like: the custom powerup. I like taht you went back and redid Guardian for jsut a straight-up new map. No special minigames or anything. However, the map loses about half of it's value as a nice new competitive map when you add in a required special gametype. A lot of people are gonna see this and go "oh hellz yes, a new Guardian! I'm gonna go play this and... oh, required gametype. Nevermind." I know it sounds harsh, but it is the unfortunate truth in the world of Forge. Unless they have a REALLY good reason, people do not like to DL gametypes. Ever.

Replace the custom with a good ol' Overshield or something and I'm sure this map can rach it's full potential. Still, good map and good initiavtive. You have inspired me to go mess with my favorite old map. Be back soon =)

3.5/5

Maps on guardian just don't seem to amaze me, but maybe thats because no one ever posts maps on Guardian. Anyway I like how you made different paths to get to certain areas. I usually dislike floating pallets on competitive maps. In fact, I usually dislike anything floating on a competitive default map because of the crappy things you get to forge with, but I see you used this glitch perfectly. It's so neat and everything, and I like the weapon placements. No more uber shotgun! I do think that 6 ARs are too much. Maybe 2-4. And for a small map like this, maybe 8 BRs are a little too much as well. Maybe 4-6 is my suggestion. Also I dislike trip mines in maps without vehicles but that's just a minor thing. Overall I would definitely like to try your map with a lot of friends and have a competitive match.

Theres been a couple Non-DLC maps on forgehub .. but definately not enough
Why? Because everybody is consistant on creating these amazing looking maps although thats not what a map values . However im extremely happy with your bring-back of Gaurdian.. Gaurdian was probably one of the best maps bungie has uploaded onto the Halo software... Gameplay is the most important factor of a map .. therefore I will Dl this map.. Great Job and im sure you put alot of thought on you're forging of this map.. Although like many posts above me. you should probably take out the custom powerup and put something else there.. No one barely downloads the game type unless its a mini-game.. Good job im awaiting a V2 from you ..
