These guys really helped us out with testing and suggestions. We had a blast in those games, thanks guys.
After getting bored of foundry as we all do at some point, me and I SeNTiNeL I decided to do our joint project on avalanche. We wanted to make something with a focus on one sided objective games, a solid base but extensive structure around the rest of the map as well. After me learning many lessons regarding geomerging and experimenting with various trickery about the map, I present to you our creation. We had a few Testers Guild games on this today, they were a real blast and the testers' impressions seemed very positive. They had a couple of suggestions which we acted upon. I felt that one of the testers, Zachary9990, put things pretty well, here's what he had to say:

This is the best Avalanche map ever put together by a forgehubber's tractor beam oracle thingies hands. This is a two based map that from what I can see, works for One flag, one bomb, team slayer, FFA (5-6 works beautifully), and I wouldn't doubt the creators thoughts on multi-team.
How the Testing Went
The teams were 4v4, a perfect amount. I couldn't see having much more, but I could see having 2v2 or 3v3.
When we entered the party Sentinel gave us an awe inspiring speech on how things were and how we were going to play. I felt a warm tingle up my spine from the uniformity of this testing.
CTF
First we played One Flag probably the ideal gametype for a map of this genra. The attackers spawn in the tunnel, have a Warthog, and a rocket launcher that can mean capture or not capturing. Driving up in the Warthog, past the center structure, you will find a massive three story tower that is guarded by the evil henchmen of the blue team. From high towers and precarious points do the sparten lazer and battle rifles attempt to bring you to your knees. Eventually, we reach the inside, all taking different routes that can leave the defenders discombobulated. As you reach the center floor you see a flag pointing into the distace as if the front of a sailboat. You grab it, make the discision whether to run with it through the man cannon, or try to make it with the Warthog. Taking the man cannon, we reach all the way back to our base and score! That's how that went down.
Assault
We didn't do it, but I'm sure it would be very similar to CTF
Team Slayer
Be wary traveler, for on this mode, no place if safe enough. This is a hectic way to play, but for me at least, the most fun. We started out in the attackers base. For symetric maps, there is no Warthog. For the first half of the game, our team was oblivious to the fact that we were the low ground and should restrain ourselves from trying to rush the massive base that the other team was in possesion of. row after row of team mates fell until we began to not cross the midpoint, that's where we started to get more and more kills. The sniper tower, also, was never in possession of the actual sniper. It always seemed to migrate to the three watchtowers near the cliff, and there Dimmest Bread continued to cap people from miles away. It also seem that ,even though the small amount of actual stickies on the map, we were all getting these amazing sticks. I myslef had two that I was able to get from the top of the large base to the mid point and Vorpal Saint took all of my glory when he stuck Nightfire from literally across the map. Overall, this gametype had absolutely no spawn camping and was really really fun.
FFA
Although I believe the map isn't specifically focused around FFA games, I think that it went great. I was naver spawn killed, and was always able to move around without much trouble. The sniper tower was a favorite place for me, I enjoy waiting for people to come through the teleporter, but I wouldn't last long due to the man cannon up to in and the two power cores that kept me and my brains seperated from eachother. This was absolutley great.
NOTES:
Other gamtypes that might work (in my opinion)
Infection-The large base would be a great place to fight off a horde of brain eating fiends.
Only Problems
One place to get out of the map, but I talked to Sentinel about it.
I think that the bases are slightly unbalanced, but that all can be fixed with a quick exchange of the laser and rocket positions I think.
Other than that, this was a great map to test and I think that this will be featured within a week of its release.
Love,

We took him up on the suggestion of switching Laser and Rockets, and Defenders now get the Rox and Attackers get the Spartan. We agreed that it helped to balance the bases and give a bit more of a chance to any Hog drivers. And the way out of the map has been fixed to the limits of the materials. There is still a way out, but its not too easy and takes a concerted effort to escape, so there will be no problems in games unless you have a chronic map breaker on your party....
Now for tasty eye-food:

Overview

Defender base

Objective floor (Defender base)

Attacker base

A few pics of the rest of the map, focusing on the central dividing wall.

The central wall has a tunnel running through the bottom of it, this is where OV spawns.
And now for some action shots:

That's me way up there, and I SeNTiNeL I staring on high.
This was a learning experience for us both, but we had alot of fun building and testing it. We wanted to achieve something substantial and solid feeling on Avalanche, and we're pretty happy with the results. Let us know what you think.
