well I have to say when I made this map I had basically dial up internet so I never got a decent chance to playtest it for balance, which really sucks because I also never got to play a big match with it.
I just might consider making a new ship map, I had another idea floating around in my head, but I've been busy with a new job the past few months and haven't had much time or interest in forging, I'll give you a heads up if I go ahead and construct it, because you've given the best feedback I've gotten for any map!
oh, and as a side note it seems you played it on ctf, while the game was built more for territories, with other gametypes as additional

The carrier only had shotguns a few BRs and a rocket launcher to defend and as we quickly found out if you don't blow up the banshees as you run over to get the flag you'll quickly be swarmed by attacking forces that will pin you down or ditch the banshee's to get the now unprotected flag.
Possible ways to make better:
A missle pod on the carrier side would be nice along with SMGs and other close range weapons. Also the fuel rod is just way too damn strong inside the gunship. anything else was okay but two shot kills at medium range from a camping fuel rod killed any of the (would-be) flag carriers. I suppose this off sets the twin shotguns but frankly the amount of weapons on the gunship compared to carrier are insane, not to mention there are both a hammer and a sword that compare to the damage the shotguns delivers.
perhaps if you put the choppers where they can launch off the top of the gunship and increase the guns on the carrier it would be more fair.
As it was most players bitched then left till only a sad 4v4 game was left. That still took another hour.
However I have always liked this map. gameplay was sadly 2/5, looks 5/5, easily reached bases 2.5/5 (On foot was nearly impossible to get back in either ships, grav lifts worked half the time you usually fell short) creativity 5/5, backstory 5/5, weapons layout 2/5. Overall 3.5/5.
