This is my entry for the sandbox template contest.

I didn't use the bridge/weapon holder, as everything from sandbox is re-used.

The map is Symetrical, so anything shown at one base is present at the other base.

Anyway, map looks good. Not much elevation, that can help a map alot, especially for BTB maps. Is the template contest official?

personally I think that the map is too empty, and you stuctures aren't really original, but I will give you props on the Warthog spwan. 3/5 for blandness.

I wanted the choppers out of the main lines of fire and semi-protected.
The grav-lift isn't too far out of the way, but does make you work to get it.

hey I'll give it a 3/5 just because of the fact that it is plain. I think you should merge and interlock some objects. Here is a link that should teach you how if you don't. You also might want to do something with the center piece of the map to make the whole map look better.

Im guessing that for the template contest you can't spawn anything in, you have to use what the original sandbox uses right? If that is the case than I don't think that anything needs to be geomerged. If you were to use objects to geomerge, that would sacrifice other aesthetic structures such as the warthog spawn. I don't think that these other people commenting realize the rules (assuming that I am, indeed, correct about them) of said contest and I, for one think this is a wonderful map and that the lack of geomerging does not affect the gameplay in any way.

You have my praise and a DL


Edit: I checked the rules, and I was right, you cannot spawn in anything

Wow alot of the people above should maybe read before they post. This looks fantastically done considering what you ahd to work with. Since i haven't seen any other template contest entrys i dont really know how this will hold up but very original. I couldn't even imagine making a map with a certain number of items chosen for you like that. good work

I was thinking of entering the contest myself, but I didn't realize just how hard it is to make a functional map with only so many items. Compared to most other maps it's not the best but based on the conditions you have to work with it gets a 4.5/5 from me.

to break the map up a little, make you work to get an easy way to the flag/bomb.

besides, it's not WAY out, just on the flat sand dune.
