What exactly constitutes as aesthetic? Like does it need to be something like those giant robots, or just look pretty(eg. Deviation)?

Aesthetic maps are maps that are created for the sole purpose of looking amazing. Though lacking in gameplay, you will find yourself in awe of such creations, sometimes going to extreme lengths such as deleting parts of it to figure out how the creator pulled off this uncanny resemblance to something with Forge. Coolant's Pelican started this trend when it made Bungie favorites and was feature on ForgeHub. You can also vote for maps that play well, but still look amazing.

Great idea staffers... I was just thinking how the first best-of covered about 3 months of forging (Foundry wasn't out the whole time, and the advanced techniques were only being learned), and this one is covering >6 months of really, really good maps. My only gripe is that it is way too hard to pick just one to nominate/vote in each category. I would love to be able to submit a top 5, but I understand the popularity of these awards, and that something like this would be a bit much to handle. Anyway, great idea bringing this back, good job with the categories, and welcome to all the new users...

Usually thats because that map is the best of the best in the communitys eyes.
