Most of you will remember our recent 1v1 Conflict tournament, well it's back. Sort of. We're happy to announce a new feature to Forge Hub, the Competitions section, which allows us to effectively manage competitive ladders and tournaments in a dedicated system, instead of using threads as we've done in the past. To signify the release of this new feature we're starting a 1v1 ladder using the 1v1 Conflict gametype and some of the maps from the tournament itself. The first three weeks of this ladder will form a contest, and the highest rated player at the end of this period will be declared the winner.
For those of you unfamiliar with ladders, they are a system employed in competitive sports whereby players or teams are ranked by the number of points they have accumulated. Players/teams must earn points to increase their ranking and climb the ladder. Once you have joined a ladder you can then proceed to challenge other players - points will be awarded for a win, deducted for a loss, and the amount of points will vary depending on the difference in rankings between you and your opponent.
The Contest
The 1v1 Flashback contest will run for a 3 week period on the 1v1 Flashback ladder, utilising five maps from the recent 1v1 Conflict tournament alongside the 1v1 Conflict gametype itself. Details and download links for both can be found below. The highest rated player at the end of the contest will receive a prize in the form of a custom controller, if you're a materialistic sort then you may want to scroll to the bottom now and find out more on that. The 1v1 Flashback ladder itself, however, will continue to run after the opening contest has finished.
The Rules
- You are required to use the 1v1 Conflict Gametype in all games on the 1v1 Flashback ladder
- The map which is to be played in each match is decided by the challenged player

- Within this time, you must play at least ten (10) games, against at least five (5) unique opponents, to be eligible for the prize
- Any cheating or breaking out of maps will result in a disqualification. This goes for all ladders or competitions. Any disputes should be reported to Shad0w Viper
- The Competition Rules section for all ladders and tournaments can be found here
