ah, perhaps I'll continue working on the map that I gave up on for your Flag Quest contest at MB. This time it will come around hopefully.

?

I removed it, you might want to PM shock, he still has it in his post. Good luck with your map.

Sorry if I didn't say what I meant well in my last post. I didn't mean a straight line, or completely spread out over a whole map.

(Ignore my mistake in designing the blue half)
Would I be able to put territories symmetrically anywhere on this diagram of a map?

Or would the map have to be the below shape with no branches off?

I guess you can take small liberties here and there it want with it.. but the further you deviate from what conquest is supposed to really be, the less likely you are to succeed in the competition. make sense?

but basically, there shouldn't be a way to bypass a territory

What if it didn't bypass? Something Like this?

Okay, that makes much more sense. I read both replies over again too. The idea was to set up ambushes. But what if the territories can't be bypasses by the branch?
* --[]-- * Stars are territories. I'm fairly certain that my red diagram would work.

I know I'm being just plain difficult, but I really need to know exactly what I can do.
There's keeping to the spirit of Conquest, and then there's making interesting maps that take the gameplay in a different direction for the better.

EDIT: @ Camofo: Great minds think alike.

I agree with the last part there. We don't want to say you can't be creative with this, otherwise it may not be a hugely successful contest. But like I said, deviating greatly from the Conquest path will most likely hurt your chances.

AWESOME. I was just thinking about conquest.
A couple questions, if I may.
1. How many maps can we post?
2. Can we post a map, then take that map and tweak a map feature or reroute something entirely, and then post it as a new map?
I'll have to enter this. I've had some conquest designs on the back burner, but it looks like I'll be working on them now.

I may not be a veteran of the site, but don't for a second make the mistake of assuming that I'm an idiot, a noob, a jackass, or a thirteen year old who almost has a girlfriend.

Insane54 shared the melon with me. It was tasty. I made it into a smoothie.

I think we need a very descriptive set of rules so we know what will help us and what will hurt us in this competition.
