technically that map is rotationally symetrical and yeah they probably wouldn't get mad since ive played on a conquest map like that and it worked well. I wish i could do this because i've never made a conquest map and would like to try it but due to my xbox coming down with the sickness known as the red ring of death ill probably have to sit this one out. :)

Check out my new map How Bout Zombyz

Does a Conquest map have to be one single straight path along the line of territories?
I mean, can you spread the territories out (Symmetrically of course) to be deviated from the path? (Symmetrical version of Paragon for example. It's basically an L-shape, but it had paths that branch off and connect back.

And if that's not acceptable, can the path branch off and reconnect around the territories that don't branch off from the main path? The branches are purely to hold weapons and set ambushes?

I'm looking to add some strategy to Conquest.

There's no such thing as too many grenades.

Huh. I've never tried forging for conquest. The gametype is great fun. It's going to take some extreme creativity to make something original for this. I was going to wait until Mythic before starting a new map, but this seems like a good excuse. Good luck, all.

I'd go for it.

EDIT: Nvm, Phreakie's post reminded me, Chasm is inversely-symmetrical and is a lot of fun. I'm pretty sure you could submit it.
Okay, If I don't finish my current map by next weekend I will get started and hopefully finished by the six week time frame. Could you guys, take the links out? I don't want anyone stealing my
idea.

Edit: Also, can I test my map with the testers guild before I submit it?

Thank you L3Nuq

The path should not be straight, but all turns should be symmetrical. The path should not branch at all. Think W, U, N, C, Z, but not Y or E or K or B or O. C is fine, but not D. G is not symmetric and X is right-out.

Q?? gtfo.

No. Sorry, but that is not Conquest, thats just territories. Conquest is a linear battle over territories.

May I still participate even though I am Staff in the Testers Guild? I wouldn't judge, of course.

I'm assuming that judges can't enter the contest?

Edit: Lol, Scope posted like at the same time as me, asking practically the same thing :D

Anyone, be it FH staff or TG Staff, should be able to enter, though they will forfeit any and all input in the judging process

key word is should. this is still currently being discussed, I believe. Stay tuned.

I wanted to make one a while back and I guess now I have a reason.

If I decide not to submit one, can I still judge?
