I just wanted to put my 2 cents in the competition. Conquest is a very simple game of tug-o-war in my opinion. This means that there is a constant push and retreat going on during a game. The key to this contest in my opinion is to take the original concept of Conquest and create a new feel to the game without changing its original formula on no equipment and rapid fire weapons.

Since Chasm isnt eligible for the contest i want to use that as an example. While he did use plasma grenades,Enegery Rifles and Needler(which is quite different than normal) he has still managed to keep the formula more or less intact. The map itself adheres to the conquest formula of symetric narrow meandering hallways with the addition to the chasm/death pit. Now im not telling you to add death pits but maybe coming up with an idea to rival the addition of a death pit and suspended platforms. Equipment is counter intuititve of what conquest does. Constant motion and flow is the key to winning the match things that delay combat made it more like traditional halo.

You know what I'm going to delete them because you seem to be so hell bent on destroying my opinions with short response arguments. Even though those "guides" were just suggestions, only to be taken at face value and used if someone saw fit. If it will make you happy, then so be it. Because god forbid I said something that goes against a higher ranking member said.

Ive played a few conquest modes. and I was thinking of making a pretty cool map, but I know conquest maps usually don't have stray paths, do you think if it makes the map any better, I may add some

I'm not sure, just typing it out now makes me think it "slow down" the map due to camping issues.

Everyone stop telling people how to do their map. If they don't stay closely to the guidelines, their map will be rated poorly.

Even though we have to stick to the 'traditional' rules of Conquest, which would be weapon layout and etc., I'm assuming we can go 'radical' such as maps like Vertkwest and Cabbage Patch (Except on Foundry - eh).

How long would it be recommended for the conflict territory? 2 bridges? Just want a rough estimate, so that I can take one route on my map than the other.

If you can't use the hogs or turrets then that would be fine.

No, having stray paths in a traditional is a no-no. (Sorry)

No, you simple follow the submission rules and post your map in that thread. If you want however, feel free to post it.

Nemi, the rules state that this is for a traditional conquest map. try to stay creative within those guidelines. you've played enough conquest to know what that means
