I love Minigames. I've been working on two concepts for minigames for some time now, but I can't seem to be able to get them to work. I personally hate MLG, primarily because it removes the vast majority of the weapons in Halo. Anyhoo, I suppose that minigames have lost popularity because gimmicks are rather shortlived in their enjoyability.

I got a coldstorage map that I am almost done building, but my fileshare has to much crap and I don't feel like deleting things. So If anyone want's it just PM me and I''l send it to you, Just one catch if you want it make sure you at least mention my name when you post it.

Fantastic post TrueDarkFusion i have been afraid to bring this up for weeks. I think that minigame maps are a dying breed sadly, but I think its more infection maps that are a dying breed. I know that its hard to be original in infection, but we can move past that. Even if its an unoriginal concept, i.e. a fort-based game, it can still be made original and fun with the proper tools and creativity. Please somebody save us from the standard infection games nowadays being "FATBOY" and "RUN FROM TEHM ZOMBEE PEOPLEZ!" =-)

Also, many people have used this as an opportunity to advertise their maps. It's annoying to see people flood this thread with posts just advertising their minigame maps, and it would be nice if it could stop. Again great job on the musing TrueDarkFusion I'd be interested to see how this affects the concentration of minigame feature maps.

I'm like so tired of all the MLG maps I love minigame maps though except Fat Kid i hate that but thats more of a casual/minigame than minigame

I always enjoy your front page topics TDF, they're well thought out, well written and always interesting.
I've never gotten seriously into minigames, I dip in and out from time to time, but they always impress me with whats possible when you think about it. I want to have a go at forging one as it looks like a fun logical challenge, but am a little short on starting ideas, so if anyone wants to co-build one then shoot me a PM.

I do think that minigames must be saved. They are ingenious little creations that deserve merit in their own right. It has never failed to impress me what has become possible with forge, what is arguably such a simple editing system, and I'm proud to say that FH has been at the forefront of this creativity. Users on this site have achieved things using respawn times, runtime minimums/maximums, custom powerups, teleporter nodes and a good deal of imaginative design that even Bungie didn't realise were possible. Minigames are a vital part of what we are about at FH, working within the limits of our system to create new unique and fun experiences, expanding Halo 3 beyond a simple FPS.

I'm working on a minigame map right now... it takes a while to get it perfect. I love the musings though, keep it up.

I love minigame maps, but most of my friends hate them. A friend of mine even hated Duck Hunt! Laaame.

Yea I am just getting back to Forging now. And now since my Forge Training is over I will be using all Forge Techniques even a new one I found out about that no one else knows. And I will now figure out how to do everything so I can make start being active here.
