TDF, I am currently working on a mini-game as we speak.
However, this past month shows my creativity went on standby, I guess you could call it a forgers block.
Hopefully, the revival of new maps on old maps will be reborn. The moments I had before the map packs came out were tremendously fun, and I want that back.

LBP will be a great game, there's no doubt about that. What with the whole premise being user-created content, there's always endless possibilities, and the same goes for forge.
Bungie even said they were going to release far more map packs than Halo 2, so we've got a while til' Halo 3 will die. Halo 2 isn't even dead.
And as for LBP, I am going to buy, and I'll probably enjoy it. I honestly think that game developers are seeing what users want, and it's what users make. Far Cry 2 has a true map creator, allowing you to change terrain. I will most likely purchase this too, because I am up for new things, and who know, many forgers may switch. But many will stay here.

But forge is amazing, and almost everyone here could agree with me. Isn't this what this site is for?

I was thinking off doing a Fencing Piste mini-game map, but I doubt anyone would be interested, but I've got a different Casual/Mini-Game map planned too.

I don't think it's as serious as all that. Yeah, it's been along time since there's been a mini-game made by TDF (Hobo Heights, Tremors, Cat n Mouse) but there's been a lot more games made since then, than just Duck Hunt.

Teamwerks Arena, Jenga Tower, Rock Wall, UNSC Range, Devinish's Defrag jump maps, Destruction Derby, Viceball, Brute Burnout, Tragectory Range, Gooseball, Leapfrog, Cannon Fodder, Sit on you, Dr. Spy.....

There's a lot of games out there.
I can see the concern; that it seems like the major interest nowadays is in geomerged/interlocked competitive maps, but there's really more out there than just that. Besides, there was a time when it seemed all the interest was in minigames and infection, and the competitive maps were ignored.

So just because TDF was away, doesn't mean that all the good gametypes are gone. You just have to look.

Since when did what we pay for colored cloth gauge our gravity?

By reading all these posts it looks like we have an estimated 10+ maps which really shows the mini game scene isnt dead but only at a slump , at the moment i have EIGHT map ideas in progress which is a hell of a lot for me but one of the mini-games in there is gradually rising up through the ranks of importance so Maybe even my most important project yet! :D

Prepare to Drop.

Of course the whole thing was brilliant, but this part in particular is very touching.

Another great musing TDF. Can't wait for the next one ;-)

I personally think Mini games aren't dying out as such, But there is less you can create in terms of fun games detering from the usual halo 3 gameplay (Shooting, Driving, Blowing Shi* up). I think that games such as Richochet, Grifbal Variants, Jenga, Birdhunt, I game i created which was Pimps Quest its all well and nice but theres only so much you can do.

And posting something unoriginal on this site leads to hundreds of idiotic comments saying you're stealing ideas ect. More minigames will come - people need to be inspired.
