Great post, I certainly remember all of the maps you mentioned.

I remember being SOOO enthralled with Compound 42B. I never really realized it but Last Resort really was the reason Foundry was such a great asset. All the other original maps weren't very good for the current method of forging, only map editing.

My signiture was too big, therefor it was deleted by Running Chron. Next time I will get an infraction.

Wow TDF, that was absolutely brilliant, I'm excited for the next one, and might I add to the rest of those who were enjoying those pics, I rather did as well ;)...Lastly, I'd like to end this reply with a good ol' fashion thank you for bringing up the history of forge, as it seems every new forger nowadays has no idea of that history, I for one had no clue along with them, because I actually didn't start forging/playing customs til the Heroic map pack was released...Thanks again, and great post...again...

I also got the game a little late, but not late enough to miss out on the old stuff. I know it's not like its been 5 years or anything, but this makes me feel all nostalgic. Sometimes I forget how simple or crude the things coming out of forge used to be. Good job writing this, someone said earlier, it sounds like the History Channel, but about Forge, I agree with that.

As a note: Someone really needs to make a simple map, I don't care if its Foundry or not, but nowadays if a map isn't complex, it's disregarded by a number of people. I really wanna see a simple map that just plays AMAZING. It would be awesome to see a really simple map featured here, now that people can use the advanced forging techniques.

Lol, I like how every time some thing is described as fun is followed up by "for the time..."

Have they become boring? Or has everyone's standards ("needs moar intarlockin!!1") blinded them from fun...?

Anyway, pretty interesting; and rather amusing to read.

Very, very cool. I love reading nonfiction on topics I enjoy. I'm looking forward to the next one.

"Most of the greatest evils that man has inflicted upon man have come through people feeling quite certain about something which, in fact, was false." --Bertrand Russell

"A habit of basing convictions upon evidence, and of giving to them only that degree of certainty which the evidence warrants, would, if it became general, cure most of the ills from which the world suffers." --Bertrand Russell
