Eviction

Eviction
A simple city-style map I threw together. I've played a few maps like this before with friends that were meant for infection, but I thought I'd build one of my own. However, this one is a bit more flexible. Not only is Infection perfect on this map, but Slayer, Assault, and Territories work pretty well too. After final editing, I thought I did a pretty decent job, and was even told it resembled something straight out of COD 4. If that's what you've come for, you've come to the right place.

The abandoned city.

A turret staring down an alley way.

Statue of the great leader.

Merchant booths.

A second alley way.

Weapon/# present/spare clips/respawn rate

Carbine/2/2/30
SMG/4/2/30
BR/4/2/30
Shotgun/2/2/30
Brute Shot/1/2/30
Sniper Rifle/2/2/30
Spartan Laser/1/30

Equipment/# present/respawn rate

Frag grenade/4/10
Plasma grenade/4/10
Overshield/1/30
Invisibility/1/30
Trip Mine/2/60

If this map interests you, feel free to download here and tell me what you think.

This map looks pretty good and it does actually remind me of COD 4. As far as weapons goes it works, but I don't know if it is right to have an invisibility and an overshield on the same map? Also the shotgun in CQ could get pretty cheap. Since it looks like a close quarters map.

Looks pretty good. You could add a few more aesthetic touches here and there, but overall, not too bad for ur first post. But the statue is exactly the same as a previous post that i saw earlier today

I'm glad that reviews for this were almost universally positive. Interlocking the walls, floors, and ceilings wasn't easy but I tried my best at it. Some units just refused to stay adjacent and I gave up on them.

As for the statue, I admit it, it was drawn from another map I came across. I saw it and thought "Oh, that's pretty neat." so I felt I should add the idea to one of my own maps. Aside from borrowing that, I feel the map still retains originality.

yeah it looks like a recreation of showdown to me! actaully if i was you i would try converting this to a infection map! it looks like it would be fun. but if not if your going to make a asthetic map its a good idea to interlock and merge a little.

You did an excellent job for your first post. I think as long as it is considered a competitive map that it doesn't necessarily needs more aesthetics because sometimes less is more. However if you have some objects left just mess around around and see if anything comes up better. If so you can always post a second version. Also it looks fairly easy to get over the outside wall is there a way to get back in because if not it may be a good idea on making the wall higher. Regardless you did a very good job. Kudos

This needs to be put in the competitive section. But anyway, good map! Funny job at making the statue, because his "arms" could have been opened a little to resemble that they are arms. Because if you hadn't have told me otherwise, I'd just stare at it and repeat to myself, "WTF, WTF, WTF, WTF..." I've seen some better city maps, but I definately can't complain about this. What gametypes are recommended?
