DuneScape

Created by: RunTime83 and makisupa007

DunScape was a collaborative creation on the middle or main tier of Sandbox. Both Runtime83 and myself had an interest in teaming up for a joint forge, but we both admitted that we don't work very well with someone else in the party. We came up with the idea for a "Hand Off" map that we would take turns working on. I would build for a day or two and then post the link to my file share where he could download and begin working on a new section of the map for a couple of days. The map started around the central column, which was the first thing I finished, and it spread out from there. We handed the map back and forth around 8 times before it was complete. I enjoyed making a coauthored map because if there was a skill I was lacking in my partner could take over and visa versa.

Dunescape is a symmetric map designed mainly around vehicle combat. The map itself is very friendly to maneuver through while in a vehicle and there are several nice jumps that can be taken to ambush the enemy's base while airborne! The central column is surrounded by a large enclosed infantry tunnel that is used for moving across to the other base on foot. The Missile Pod and the Overshield both spawn in the central area underneath the enclosure. This is a good spot to rush at the beginning of a match in order to control the opposite team's vehicle use. The outside of the enclosure has two large ramps on either side that can be used to propel yourself towards the enemy base. Each base has a tunnel entrance in the center where the Rockets spawn. The team's color marker can be seen like an eye shining through the tunnel. Each team starts with a Warthog, a Chopper, and two Mongooses. The bases include two side rooms and an elevated platform with a large shielded diamond window. Note: The side rooms both have bomb plant points in them making a game of Assault slightly reminiscent of Ivory Tower. The Vehicles are set to respawn every 60 seconds, so there is usually something available to ride in.

Dunescape supports all gametypes.
